OLD MEETS NEW

This project I built my concept around architecture where old traditional buildings are designed to be mixed with modern touches. I took this into my design process, by using textiles techniques such as rust dye to bring in the old, alongside digital print techniques as a more modern textiles technique. In addition I looked into 19th Century fashion and took silhouette inspiration from bustled dresses for the sleeve shape. When pattern cutting the jacket I used a subtraction cutting method in order to create the most minimal amount of fabric waste as I could.
